Trying to streamline our workflow for generating cross-sections from drone-derived surfaces. Currently exporting to Civil3D and doing it there but it feels clunky.
We need sections every 50ft along haul roads for volume calculations. Anyone have a better workflow? Ideally something that can batch process multiple alignments.

Sign inCivil3D corridors are actually great for this once you set up the templates. Create your alignment, attach the drone surface, and use the section editor. You can batch export to XML for reporting.
The trick is setting up your templates right the first time.
For haul roads specifically, check out Propeller's cross-section tool. It's built for exactly this use case. Not as flexible as Civil3D but way faster for simple stuff.
